Network Housing Group is now Network Homes
03 May 2016
Network Housing Group has been consolidated into Network Homes from today (Tuesday 3 May).
In 2015, Network consulted residents about bringing together the different housing associations within Network Housing Group (Network Stadium, Riversmead, Community Trust Housing and London Strategic Housing) to become a single charitable housing association called Network Homes.
Network decided to consolidate its group structure in response to major changes in the operating environment for housing associations, including large cuts in government grants to build new affordable homes, uncertainties in rental revenue streams because of welfare reforms and the 1% social housing rent cut for the next four years, and greater commercial risks.
The Government’s social housing regulator, the Homes and Communities Agency, is also placing much stronger emphasis on assessing Value for Money and efficiency within housing associations.
Simplifying the organisational structure will help Network Homes work more efficiently and effectively. It will also help keep costs down for residents.
Helen Evans, Chief Executive of Network Homes, said “This is a momentous day for Network. By operating as one organisation we have new opportunities to simplify the way we work further, deliver stronger value for money, increase our financial strength, and quicken our decision making. We will be able to deliver more consistent and higher quality services to our customers and build more affordable homes.
“We remain as committed as ever to delivering a high quality service to all our customers wherever they live, and we will continue working from our local offices.
“The only change for residents is that Network Homes will now become their landlord and we will no longer use the Network Stadium, Riversmead, Community Trust Housing and London Strategic Housing names. Rents, services charges, tenancy agreements, and tenants’ right all remain exactly as before. We are writing to all residents individually with more information about the change.”
The new visual identity and branding for Network Homes is also unveiled today.
Simon Graham, Director of Strategy & External Affairs, said “The new name, Network Homes, recognises our role operating right across the housing market, from providing social rented homes to producing high value properties for open market sale.
“Our new strapline ‘Because good homes make everything possible’ alludes to the crucial role our homes play in providing the secure base which supports people to fulfil their potential in life, whether they rent or own. We give people the key to all the possibilities which come with a good home.”
