Network Homes begins work on 105 affordable homes at Park Royal
10 December 2019
Leading housing association Network Homes has begun construction of 105 new affordable homes on Acton Lane, near the Central Middlesex Hospital in Park Royal.
The quality new homes are being built by developers Hollybrook with practical completion expected in 2021. Eighteen apartments will be for London Affordable Rent, a rate set by the Greater London Authority (GLA) and comparable to social rent and 83 homes for shared ownership. This offers opportunities for local people to step onto the housing ladder.
The four remaining homes will be for London Living Rent, a Mayor of London scheme with rents based on a third of average household incomes. This gives Londoners the chance to save for a deposit to buy a Shared Ownership property.
Of the new apartments, 28 will be one-bedroom, 60 are two-bedroom and 17 will be three-bedroom.
The scheme is part of wider plans by Network Homes to build more homes near Central Middlesex Hospital and further designs are being developed in consultation with the local community. The land sits within the Old Oak and Park Royal Opportunity Area, where, through regeneration, 25,000 new homes are planned.
We’re really pleased to get started on this quality new development which will provide much needed new homes for local people. Network Homes is proud to be playing a part in the Old Oak and Park Royal Opportunity Area which will see substantial regeneration and construction of new housing.
