Network Homes maintains workplace health and safety accreditation
14 November 2019
Network Homes has maintained its Contractors Health and Safety Scheme (CHAS) accreditation building on our strong track record for workplace health and safety.
The CHAS standard serves as a safety benchmark, assessing the quality of a business’ internal health and safety standards and processes. CHAS is a leader in third party accreditations, carries out assessments of safety policy, procedures and records – which if up to standard, result in a business being awarded full accreditation and the opportunity to display the CHAS logo.
The standard is useful for business partners, as it allows greater assurance that safety procedures meet a required quality benchmark. Our ‘comprehensive, thorough and well structured’ submission resulted in the reaffirmation of our CHAS accreditation.
Network Homes takes health and safety very seriously and we’ve already held Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Awards for three years consecutively. We’ve also received a British Safety Council Sword of Honour in 2018.
This accreditation is particularly important to us given the public expectations of the sector’s response to the Grenfell Tower tragedy and inquiry. The assurance that we aspire to give our residents and partners is likely to be based on some form of external assessment. By regularly submitting our processes for outside scrutiny, it helps prepares us for what is very likely to be part of housing regulation going forward. Our residents and customers can be assured that our focus on safety is of paramount importance to Network, and that this runs through into all our projects. I would like to say thank you to everyone who has ensured that effective health and safety procedures are properly implemented and well maintained.
