Ridgeway was all lit up for Christmas

Just before Christmas, residents at Ridgeway in Hertford got into the festive spirit by taking part in our Christmas decorating competition. All they had to do was decorate the outside of their home with lights and seasonal decorations by 19 December to be in with a chance of winning up to £40 worth of high street vouchers.

As it was their first Christmas in their new home, we thought holding a light-hearted competition would be a great way to bring everyone together.  We gave residents two weeks to decorate their home before our judges, Steve Cherry and Dione Somerville from our Neighbourhood Team in Hertford, decided on the winner.

Many residents took part in the competition and lit up the neighbourhood with lights and decorations. Our judges chose the home of resident Chelsea Savage as the first prize winner and she was delighted to win the top prize which was a £40 high street voucher. The runner up won a £20 high street voucher and we gave all participants selection chocolate boxes for taking part.
