Cameron’s hired! – Wembley apprentice steps into full time housing role at Network Homes

01 February 2021

A Network Homes apprenticeship scheme has given a Wembley resident the keys to a successful career as he lands a full-time job.

Cameron Anterkyi will be on the frontline as a Resident Liaison Officer in our Building Safety Taskforce where he will be working directly with Network residents by helping to improve communications and engagement during building safety work.

Education Studies graduate Cameron, 23, was originally training to be a teacher but decided the classroom wasn’t for him. So, he signed up for a Business Admin Apprenticeship at Network in September 2019. As an apprentice he spent time with various teams across the organisation including front line experience with our Voids and Lettings team, where he showed potential residents around properties and organised viewings.

The apprenticeship also gave Cameron the chance to earn while he learned as he combined work with study and course work. It also came with qualification in Level 3 Business Administration.

Cameron said: “I’m really excited to starting this new position and look forward to getting out on site to see the work we’re doing and meeting residents. I think the experience I’ve gained during my apprenticeship will definitely help me meet the many challenges ahead and be successful.”

Fiona Deal, Executive Director of People and Technology, commented: “Cameron has really shown commitment and hard work throughout his apprenticeship. Through the experience he has gained already I’m sure he’ll be a big success in his new role with a great career ahead of him.”
