Black History Month 365 fund is open
19 August 2024
Customers, local voluntary and community organisations can apply for a grant of up to £1,000 from the Black History Month (BHM) 365 fund to deliver projects in the community that celebrate and educate people about black history. Applications open four times a year and, with this round of entries, you have until Friday 13 September to complete and submit your application.
Along with A2Dominion Housing Group, Peabody and Metropolitan Thames Valley, we support projects in our communities that celebrate black history by offering funding for them through the Black History Month 365 fund. In October each year, the UK recognises the achievements and contributions of people of black heritage around the world through Black History Month. The fund aims to extend UK Black History Month to a year-round celebration.
A grant from the fund can help you to deliver projects in your community with a focus on:
- bringing communities together to mark and celebrate our shared history
- promoting the awareness and knowledge of black history
- celebrating the achievements and contributions from individuals of African and Caribbean heritage
- engaging our communities and residents.
