I’ve been an apprentice in Network Homes' Construction Team and we’ve been working on new homes at Bilton Road in Perivale, a residential suburb in West London. I’ve really enjoyed working on this project which involves the construction of a great new development of 105 apartments. Of these homes, 44 will be for London Living Rent, 42 for Shared Ownership and 17 London Affordable Rent.

I joined Network Homes as an apprentice in November 2021 and my involvement in this project has been working with and supporting my team. The new development looks great, and it will make the ideal home and neighbourhood for residents. We added a residential playground to a create a strong sense of community with apartments overlooking a clean safe space for children to play. We wanted the landscaping to give sense of tranquillity allowing new residents to get daily exercise. A walkway offers easy access around the scheme.
The surrounding area of Perivale is also a great neighbourhood which has a surprisingly rich history. It has one of smallest and oldest churches in in the former county of Middlesex (Church of St Mary the Virgin) dating from the 12th century. There is ancient woodlands nearby with a great view from Horsenden Hill, the highest point in the London Borough of Ealing.
It’s been great building good relationships both internally with Network Homes colleagues and externally with our contractor partners Bugler and clerk of works RUND. Overall, I feel proud to be working for an organisation that is doing what we can to deliver new homes for people that need them.
