BLOG: Rydal Court raises £324 for Macmillan

Rydal Court, one of our older persons schemes in Wembley, recently hosted a Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning event with residents, raising a total of £324 for people living with cancer.
It was a lovely and very busy day organised by the social committee at Rydal Court. Residents, family and friends enjoyed a delicious selection of cakes, sandwiches and a superb tea and coffee service, not forgetting some homemade shandy. It was wonderful to have a good selection of donated items for our sale and auction table too.
Some residents showed off their wonderful cooking skills by baking a rum cake which went down excellently. One resident even tried baking a cake for the very first time and it was delicious!
We had the pleasure and company of residents from Purves Road, another local Older Persons scheme, and one of our former Rydal Court residents.
The resident social committee at Rydal Court has worked very hard, and I would like to applaud them for their hard work and commitment, pulling together and making the event a very fun fulfilled day and thank you to all who donated.
