Network Homes to build over 500 homes in Southall as part of largest ever single build project

14 October 2021

We're to start work on our largest ever single build project of 575 homes as part of a new development at Merrick Place within the Southall regeneration zone.

Work is set to begin later this year after contracts were exchanged between Network and Build to Rent operator Grainger. Construction work has been contracted to Henry Construction.

Grainger will forward fund 401 homes within three blocks which will be operated as a standalone Build to Rent development, with Network retaining the 100% affordable 22-storey building that will house 42 homes for London Affordable Rent and 132 for Shared Ownership. The wider development will also deliver 2,100 sqm of office space and 318 sqm of flexible commercial space which will provide options for local businesses and create employment opportunities. Communal gardens and public realm space will be created on the Merrick Road frontage and landscaping, play and amenity space areas will be provided within the site.

Within 100m of the new Southall Elizabeth line station and less than 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Southall, the development in Merrick Road will act as a gateway site, helping to trigger the transformational regeneration of Southall over the next decade.

This is the largest single build project that Network Homes has been involved with, so we’re really pleased to see this this fantastic scheme get underway. It will deliver much needed homes, job opportunities and regeneration to this corner of West London. We’re looking forward to working with our partners to make this all a reality.
